    WEATHER IN TENERIFE IN APRIL

The weather in Tenerife in April can be compared to a warm and sunny spring in the Low Countries with high temperatures. Anyone travelling to Tenerife in April is, of course, interested in the climatological conditions and the weather that characterises this subtropical region. To give this article a realistic shape, we must consult the meteorological institute and dig into long-term averages.

Tenerife, as the largest of the Canary Islands, has a subtropical climate with mild temperatures throughout the year. The month of April shows some differences in temperature and rainfall between the northern and southern parts of the island. The nature reserve Las Cañadas, the Teide National Park and Mount Teide itself are part of a climate type that only occurs in high mountain areas.

The data we publish in this article are long-term averages and therefore it is entirely possible that the figures may be slightly higher or lower, but major differences are unlikely.

    Humidity

We base the comfort level of humidity on the dew point, as this determines whether sweat will evaporate from the skin, cooling the body. Lower dew points feel drier; higher dew points feel more humid. Unlike temperature, which can vary significantly between night and day, the dew point changes more slowly, so a humid day is usually followed by a humid night.

I have always given Tenerife a central place and have managed to weave the island into my texts within my editorial and journalistic network. The island, which I have been in love with for decades, has seduced me into writing three books, several reading pamphlets, and thousands of articles, columns, and prose. Information and news are the products, pen and paper are the tools, while engagement is the glue. I want to share the result with everyone. I had to discover it first, then I could articulate it because we are tied to our origins by a thousand threads. Not me..., I was just born in the wrong place. © All works are copyrighted.
