    TENERIFE’S 2025 BUDGET

Tenerife’s 2025 budget includes a historic €1.127 billion euros to support families, create jobs and promote housing.

The Plenary Session has approved a public budget with record allocations for Social Action (€368 million), direct investments (€326 million to stimulate the island), and €234 million for improving public transport and infrastructure.

    8% More Than in 2024

The President, Rosa Dávila, and Vice President, Lope Afonso, emphasized that the budget repositions Tenerife as the driving force of the island’s economy and development.

The plenary session of the Cabildo of Tenerife, with support from Coalición Canaria, Partido Popular, and Vox, and with opposition votes from PSOE, has approved the 2025 budget. This economic document enables the Cabildo to manage a record €1.127 billion budget, an 8% increase compared to the 2024 budget.

    Transformative Power

The budget focuses on the transformation of Tenerife, with the largest investment in the Cabildo’s history: €326 million to revitalize the island, €368 million for unprecedented social support for individuals and families, and €234 million to promote sustainable mobility.

The President of the Cabildo, Rosa Dávila, expressed gratitude to the finance department staff for completing the economic document on time. With this budget, we can confidently say that Tenerife is back on track and regaining the momentum it lost after four years of stagnation. She also highlighted that the Cabildo, as Spain’s third-largest regional government, following Madrid and Barcelona, possesses immense transformative power.

    Primary Sector

Vice President Lope Afonso described the budget as ambitious and aligned with the island’s objectives. “The Cabildo of Tenerife—the island’s governing body—is once again the engine driving the economy, wealth, and employment while contributing to greater social cohesion and economic sustainability.” He noted that the budget reflects significant efforts to reduce the island’s dependence on the service sector and increase investment in the primary sector.

I have always given Tenerife a central place and have managed to weave the island into my texts within my editorial and journalistic network. The island, which I have been in love with for decades, has seduced me into writing three books, several reading pamphlets, and thousands of articles, columns, and prose. Information and news are the products, pen and paper are the tools, while engagement is the glue. I want to share the result with everyone. I had to discover it first, then I could articulate it because we are tied to our origins by a thousand threads. Not me..., I was just born in the wrong place. © All works are copyrighted.
