A new year has dawned, and with this New Year’s letter, I want to wish you, on behalf of the entire Tenerife Connect team, a happy and healthy New Year! Whether you live on Tenerife, visit the island, or are simply an admirer of this Canarian gem, we are grateful that you are part of our community. Together, we have had a wonderful year filled with stories, adventures, and moments that showcase Tenerife in all its splendor and diversity.
2024 was a year in which we broadened our horizons while staying connected to our roots. Through hundreds of news and informational articles, we aimed to bring you closer to the heart of this extraordinary island. Whether it was about cultural festivities, natural treasures, or simply the daily realities of life on Tenerife, we wanted to share every facet of the island with you. We are proud to have done this in both Dutch and English, enabling an even larger audience to share in our love for Tenerife.
A Year of Stories and Insights
Over the past year, we covered countless topics—from the impressive hiking trails in the Parque Rural de Anaga to the breathtaking starry skies above Mount Teide. From the historical background of the Santa Cruz Carnival to practical tips for visiting Tenerife’s most beautiful beaches. Each article was written with the intention of inspiring, informing, and, above all, connecting you with this remarkable island.
We also addressed current issues, such as the impact of storms and calimas on the island, and how the community consistently comes together to face challenges. Moreover, we highlighted the growth of tourism and the ongoing efforts to promote sustainability and preserve nature. Your enthusiasm and engagement with these themes have motivated us to continue sharing valuable information and insights.
Looking Ahead to 2025
The coming year promises to be just as exciting. We plan to further expand our focus on Tenerife’s unique culture, nature, and community. You can expect in-depth reports on local traditions, such as the romerías, and exclusive interviews with residents who bring color to the island. Of course, we will continue publishing practical guides and tips to help both residents and tourists make the most of their time on Tenerife.
Additionally, we are eagerly anticipating the publication of my third book about Tenerife in 2025, completing the trilogy. This project is a tribute to the island and a reflection of years of dedication to sharing everything that makes Tenerife so special. It is my hope that these books will serve as a lasting source of inspiration for anyone who holds the island dear.
