    DRONE SHOW SANTA CRUZ

Santa Cruz de Tenerife is preparing for a new edition of Plenilunio, one of the capital’s largest cultural events. From Friday 2 to Sunday 4 October 2026, more than one hundred activities centred on music, gastronomy, culture and leisure will take place at numerous locations across the city centre. This year, the event is themed around the four natural elements: fire, earth, air and sea.

    Drone show

This will be the eighteenth edition of Plenilunio. The programme extends across a large part of Santa Cruz, from the Rambla to Avenida Marítima and from La Recova to Parque García Sanabria. Less obvious venues, such as the San Rafael y San Roque cemetery, will also be included in the event.

One of the highlights will undoubtedly be the drone show on Friday 2 October. More than 500 drones will form figures in the sky above the harbour area. A new feature this year is that there will be two performances, at 8:30 pm and 10:00 pm. The show will be combined with a DJ performance.

    Live music

On Saturday 3 October, attention will shift, among other places, to Avenida Marítima. Several live music performances are scheduled there from 7:30 pm onwards. The programme includes Santora DJ, Daniela Garsal, Lewis Potter and Locoplaya. Saturday’s activities will continue until close to midnight. On Sunday 4 October, Plenilunio will take on a more family-oriented character, with activities for different age groups taking place between 10:00 am and 8:00 pm.

Numerous cultural and recreational initiatives are also planned throughout the city. Venues taking part include the Templo Masónico, Almeyda, Capitanía, the Museo de Bellas Artes and the MUNA nature and archaeology museum. For children, there will be workshops, bouncy castles, games and dedicated play areas in various squares and parks.

    Wide range of activities

This year, Plaza del Cabildo will also host the new “Dragones” exhibition, where animatronics, sets and actors will come together to create a world of dragons. At the same time, craft markets will take place at several locations in the city centre. Those interested in local products and small independent makers can also visit Le Good Market in Parque García Sanabria on Saturday.

Plenilunio is now not only a cultural event but also an important economic event for Santa Cruz. According to figures released by the municipality during the presentation, the previous edition generated an economic impact of almost three million euros. Visitors spent an average of 54 euros, almost half of which was spent in bars and restaurants. During the Plenilunio weekend, the municipality will also launch a special shopping voucher campaign for Sundays in October.

Anyone staying in Tenerife at the beginning of October and looking to experience Santa Cruz in a different way will therefore have an exceptionally wide range of activities to choose from during this three-day event.
