Clinic in Tenerife gives us a behind-the-scenes look at a renowned hospital in the South of Tenerife.
You’re here, enjoying everything Tenerife has to offer. You’re experiencing the subtropical island around the clock. Every step you take leads to another discovery. But not every step is equal. There are bends in the path, and in every bend, there could be an obstacle. Caution is advised, and there’s no need to seek out risks.
Quality Standards
Even the behavior of your pathogens and the endless battle of your white blood cells can occasionally get the better of you, causing you to falter. When your leukocytes give up, your immune system is compromised, and you’ll need medical care.
Quirónsalud in Tenerife is a medical-surgical center with two units. The largest is located in Santa Cruz and has 181 hospital rooms, while the second, located in Adeje, houses 59 rooms. The latter was integrated into the Quirónsalud Hospital Group network in 2012, ensuring management that provides the best healthcare services adhering to the most stringent quality standards.
Speaking the Patient’s Language
Quirónsalud Costa Adeje is a multidisciplinary medical-surgical center located in San Eugenio. It was the first private healthcare facility in the south of Tenerife and remains a reference in private healthcare in the region. Whether you enter through the emergency department or via the reception at the main entrance, you will be greeted in Dutch by Simon or Greet. They ensure that all information is conveyed to the patient in comprehensible Dutch, as the hospital prioritizes transparency and quality regardless of the patient’s native language.
The hospital covers a ground area of 5,000 square meters and operates on four levels.
Medical Disciplines
All specializations are available. The hospital employs around sixty specialists and surgeons. All medical disciplines are represented, from allergology to urology, totaling 23 specialties alongside surgical disciplines ranging from general surgery to neurosurgery.
Additionally, the hospital offers services in medical imaging, pharmacy, clinical analysis laboratories, intensive care, hemodialysis, and emergency care.
The exceptional surgical care and post-operative care are supported by two fully equipped operating rooms, a recovery room with five beds, an endoscopy room, a day hospital with five rooms, an emergency department with four open cubicles, and one enclosed observation area. Radiological and magnetic imaging complement the medical-surgical center, along with the rehabilitation department and a gym for physiotherapeutic recovery.
Elegant Solutions
One notable feature in this clinic in Tenerife is the diversity of the rooms: single rooms, double rooms, two-room suites, and family rooms, all equipped with private bathrooms, telephones, televisions with national and international channels, and personal storage lockers. All rooms are air-conditioned and offer Wi-Fi, with iPads available for rent.
The family rooms differ from regular double rooms as they consist of two separate rooms, allowing a relative or parent to stay overnight with a child. Children under sixteen years old are not allowed to stay alone, and Quirónsalud has provided this elegant solution for such cases.
Interestingly, the price for all rooms is the same. The hospital team assigns rooms based on necessity.
At-Home Aftercare
Level 0 is dedicated to consultations with specialist doctors. Around 30 medical specializations are available in thirteen consultation rooms. Patients can wait in one of three waiting areas and are notified by a sound signal and a specific code displayed on an LCD screen. No more pulling a number and waiting endlessly in line. Each specialization has its own code, and the brand-new call software ensures that patient consultations run smoothly for each discipline.
An at-home aftercare team is available, traveling from the hospital to the patient’s residence to provide post-operative care. Ambulances can quickly and effectively reach the emergency department when needed.
Everything is Arranged for You
As an EU citizen, during your stay in Tenerife, you are entitled to all medical care that cannot wait until you return home. For this, the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) exists, but costs in a private clinic are not reimbursed through it, meaning you will have to bear the costs yourself. The blue card is not an alternative to travel insurance and does not cover private healthcare or repatriation, nor does it guarantee free treatment.
Quirónsalud operates as both a private and public clinic and collaborates with the world’s largest travel and health insurers. If you have additional health or travel insurance, you should definitely visit Quirónsalud to benefit from the advantages of being privately insured.
In this clinic in Tenerife, you never need to worry about hospital bills again—everything is arranged for you. This way, you’ll have more time for yourself and can enjoy a better quality of life.
